Access Database Development Process

How will DB-Guru develop your new database system?

  1. We will need an individual from your company (coordinator) assigned to work with us to help us get the information needed to create a system that will best fit your needs, users, and budget. The coordinator will be the liaison between your business and DB-Guru; they will also be responsible for your companies’ approval for all work done by DB-Guru.
  2. The coordinator will fill out an in-depth questionnaire and/or will have a personal interview with a member of DB-Guru's development team.
  3. The coordinator will send DB-Guru copies of what you are currently using to track the database information, spreadsheet, current database, copies of reports. A nondisclosure agreement will be signed by DB-Guru if required. (See the Privacy Policy Page which describes in detail that DB-Guru does not share your information.)
  4. For complex projects, DB-Guru will develop an email proposal, and images of the table design for your approval that will describe the new system in detail. For simpler projects DB-Guru will email an estimate of the cost in hours with samples of possible forms.
  5. The proposal and data models are approved by email.
  6. DB-Guru will develop a prototype of the new system to be tested by the coordinator and one or more of the actual users. (This enables DB-Guru to understand more about the technology level of your users, how well the new system actually meets the needs of your users, and how much and what type of documentation will be necessary.)
  7. DB-Guru's process is iterative, meaning that small parts of the design are created, and sent to the customer for approval before proceeding with further development.
    • (The prototype process may be repeated as needed until the satisfaction of your system is assured.)
  8. The final database is deployed along with documentation and all coding is unlocked.
    • You fully own the database and are under no further obligation to DB-Guru.com
  9. Maintenance: Monthly maintenance is scheduled if desired.
